Muzaffer T. Emeklier
He was born in January 20th 1982. After studying in Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Classical Guitar with a scholarship for 3 years; he got interested in architecture and continued his education in ITU Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture. After 2 semesters he was accepted in the double major program and started a second major in architecture. In addition to his academic studies, he started exploring the art of photography.
His first personal exhibition, “Photos From the Pavement” was displayed in ITU, Culture and Arts Association in December 2005 and in March 2006 in the Taşkışla Building, ITU. With this series, he tried to explain the relationship between the city and the architectural scale. His second exhibition on the theme of tango dancing, took place in November 2006 within the International Tango Ritual Festival at the Darphane-i Amire Building. This was an exploration of the dynamic character of dance with the existence of the body being detached from the moment. Besides his exhibitions, he worked as a freelance photographer for Radio METU and Organizer in activities and concerts. He worked with Duygu Arseven in 2007 as a freelance photographer as well as a set designer.
He completed his architectural apprenticeship at Işık Architecture Office and Net Architecture Office in Istanbul. In addition, he appeared in the winning project team for National Adana Urban Design Competition and National Kucukcekmece Urban Design Competition with 1+1 Architecture Office. He graduated his first major, Interior Architecture BA in 2009 with a degree of second place in the department. He was commissioned as a freelance interior architect. He has completed two interior architectural projects, an office and a retail store in Istanbul. Later on he was employed by METEX Design Group as an Interior Architect where he worked on Four Seasons Geneva, Sheraton Adana, and LeMeridien Istanbul projects. In the mean time, he graduated his second major, Architecture BA, in 2011 from ITU, Department of Architecture. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture Program in University of Melbourne where he holds an International Postgraduate Coursework Award.
