°A Urban Organism

The main objective of the project was creating an urban organism which can powerfully integrate with the urban transportation system. In order to maintain this i started analyzing the main arteries of the city and decided that my main goal should be to complete the missing arc of the city's ring road.

°A Dwelling in Levent

I used the geometrical concept of an atrium from the conventional Turkish house design, in order to design a public dwelling project. Situated on one of the very busiest arteries of the city and across a very prestigious shopping mall, with the concept of an atrium it became possible to maintain a transitional area, from an office and living area to a dwelling area, with a rich recreational functions as well as dense residence geometries.

°A Boutique Hotel in Karasu

Where Karasu River meets The Black Sea, the functions of a boutique hotel, a boat workshop, restaurant and the owners house occur in masses of different volume, level and sizes. These volumes come together as if they were brought by the water and stuck into each other on different levels. The usage of open bridges between the volumes enhances the seperation of the functions as well as enabling circulation.

°A Community Visual Arts Center

The project is designed in Istanbul, in the area of Fener-Balat which has an important historical background and vital urban energy. Enriching this great potential, integrating different functions to the current dynamics of community's life, became the main objective of my project. To achieve this goal I designed a visual arts center for the community with an open-air theater, studios and exhibition areas, in belief of the connective power of arts.

°A Cultural Center

In a historical region, surrounded by the high walls of Suleymaniye Mosque complex, the main purpose of the project was to design a cultural center for the community which hopefully would have the catalytic effect to the area's dull night life. The generated design contains a concert hall and a dance floor which can be home for many kinds of events. High walls as a characteristic of the region has influenced the design to be introverted. On the other hand with the dance floor on the ground level, which has a glass dome, the interior opens to the sky and the usage of a roof terrace.
